Last years winner, Jenny from Bunbury had this to say:
"Landing like Robinson Crusoe on a deserted island our four days of wonderment began. This amazing boat trip set the scene for four perfect days with excellent company, brilliant guides, gourmet food and drinks, scenery and wildlife to take your breath away. Maia Island has it all. Our enthusiastic, knowledgeable and highly competent guides shared their expertise about the diversity of flora, fauna, geology and history of the Island. This created a perfect balance between tranquillity and interaction. Nothing was ever too much.
I believed that brochures and websites do not always portray the real story but “The Maria Island Walk” is more than the brochure or website. It is truly amazing. Nothing is ever left wanting. Thank you. These four days will last a life time!
I would personally like to thank Steve our initial contact person. Thank you. You answered all our questions and made us feel welcome and wanted. Nothing was ever too much. To Jilley and Inger - our brilliant guides. Ladies you did it all from cooking those mouth watering gourmet dishes, adapting to our needs, working so well as a team and making us all feel so welcome and included. Just perfect! The feeling of reaching the summit of The Bishop and Clerk was exhilarating and euphoric. Thank you. To Ian and his wife. Thank you for arranging this walk. Your thoughts, environmental concerns and love of the island shine through in all that we did. Everything we needed was catered for from the very comfortable backpacks, rain jackets, silk sleeping sheets, head torches, ginger tablets to the smooth boat trip over, great cabins and super dining areas to that very last sip of champagne as we farewelled Maria Island but not the memories and experiences.
This walking holiday has had it all - the diversity of flora and fauna, varied landscapes and breathtaking scenery, small group size, excellent guides and campsites. A perfect blend of nature, history and personal challenge.
Best wishes and thank you"
