Napier Class Schedule
Tai-Chi classes Janett's Tai-Chi classes are proving to be a popular alternative to the motivational circuit and TTB (see below) classes. These will be back in place when she returns from Canada, mid May.
Tummy, Thigh & Buttocks (TTB) is finally here!!
Tummy, Thigh and Buttocks workouts are ready. Sylvie and Wendy are taking these classes throughout the week at different times of the day so if you feel like working those areas of your body (& who doesn't?) come along and try it out. Word of warning - you will feel it the next day but definitely a good feeling!!

I wanted to say thank you to the Team at Healthy Inspirations in Napier for their encouragement that helped me to lose weight and reach my goal. I was with Healthy Inspirations and had reached my goal then I fell pregnant and left but always kept in mind the Healthy ways of eating that I had learned when I was there. After I had my beautiful baby boy, I was trying to lose the pregnancy weight that I gained which was 5.9 kgs but it was coming off very slowly, about three months after the birth, my dad made a very innocent comment about my weight, it hurt a little, but it got me kick started and I decided to go back to Healthy Inspirations. The team was so supportive of me and my baby, and never made me feel like I had failed because I had gained weight, but focused on the fact that I was doing something about it. It only took me about 3 months to lose the weight and one of those months I was on holiday but tried to stick to the Healthy Inspirations way of eating as much as I could. My baby is now 6 months and I have my figure back it feels great.
I think that Healthy Inspirations works for me because I am made accountable to someone about what I eat and how much exercise I do and that keeps me motivated and on track."

"My journey started in November 2009 after we visited Europe & UK in 2008, I knew I had a few kilos to shift struggling to fit my jeans and tops. I didn't feel very attractive so I popped into Napier’s Healthy Inspirations Centre.
I had a flyer for a 4 week promotion and once inside I felt at ease knowing the women there were in for the same reason as myself, Weight Loss and fitness, the management team were inspirational and really friendly letting me try the relaxation chair and tasting some of the quality supplements you can buy, as healthy snack choices in the weight loss journey.
At the free consultation there was no pressure to join, I was taken through the circuit procedures and after I had completed my first 30 minute circuit my mind was set; I wanted to continue as a Healthy Inspirations girl and start my journey to becoming fit and slim again.
A very important tool was my Daily Journal into which I wrote all my goals for the next year and planned my meals a few days at a time. I did my 30 minute circuit and motivating daily visits in my lunch hour. It was that easy.
Workmates and my family encouraged me as well as the team at the centre.
When I started losing weight and centimetres, my name moved along from the start board to my first 20%, then 40% etc of my weight loss goal that I had achieved. The centimetres were reflected in coloured ribbon which I stapled into my journal so I could show off what my efforts had achieved.
Having that recognition and being rewarded was a good feeling and kept me motivated.
When I reached 100% of my first goal, I re-set to lose a couple more kilos, which I also achieved.
I want to stay at this weight which I haven't been for many years, and the maintenance side of the programme ensures this will happen. I have received an amazing photo, all beautifully made up showing off my new figure and looking great, it’s VERY EXCITING!
I can’t thank the team at Healthy Inspirations enough for guiding me these past 5 months and I know they will still be there for the maintenance.
It's awesome to say I've dropped 14kgs and 54 cms and can fit nice clothes again.

"I had a rough year with personal and workplace issues and certainly not feeling like I should. I needed to do something positive and try and lift myself- but what?
In January this year my daughter rang and made an appointment for me to attend a consultation at Healthy Inspirations- I didn’t want to go, I had to ring and cancel it….. My reaction was like a stroppy teenager- how could she do this to me AND how was I going to go there all on my own?…. Deep down I knew I had to get some motivation back into my life and I knew my weight had started to expand so I decided to give it a go.
After the consultation and my detox week,I arrived on my first day scared and nervous and feeling frumpy. I really needn’t have felt this way as I found the girls very encouraging and supportive.
I now look forward to going to the gym 3 times a week and yes even meeting up with the scales each time. I have even managed to keep the hula hoop turning for the whole 90 seconds without dropping it to the ground- heck, the last time I did that I must have been in my early teens….
I have been going for 11 weeks now and am nearly at my target weight and Im feeling great and so much better for it.
I highly recommend Healthy Inspirations. If you have been thinking about joining-DO IT NOW! I am so glad I did. The team at Healthy Inspirations are great, a BIG thank you to you all for your help and support."

Eight months ago I walked through the doors of Healthy Inspirations, I was nervous, ashamed of how I looked and terrified that for the first time in years I was going to be weighed.
What I didn't know was that when I did step off those scales I was finally taking the first step in a whole new life.
Thank you to all the wonderful members that attend early in the mornings for never laughing at me, (for which I am eternally grateful), when I made my first tentative and halting way around the circuit.
Some machines I physically couldn't fit on, others I just couldn't use. As the weight came off, the circuit began to get easier. I still remember vividly the day I finally
managed to actually jog for the full 90 secs on the running boards, for me that was momentous and the beginning of many new experiences and a new way of life.
I am now 2/3rd of the way through my weight loss journey; my life has changed in ways I could have only dreamed of. I'm no longer pre-diabetic, my asthma is all but gone and I’m off most of my blood pressure medication and hope to be off it all in the next few months. Friends no longer have to slow down for me, in fact for the first time ever someone asked me to slow down for them last week.
Thank you to my amazing daughter Helena, who has shared this weight loss journey with me and never once complained about the 5:45 wake up times, or the petrol costs of driving to Napier three times a week.
I believe I owe my life to the incredible team at 'Healthy Inspirations' who greet me with a smile in the mornings, who keep me going with their enthusiasm and genuine concern. I have now lost 54kilos and 136 centimetres (That's nearly a Janett) and although I still have about 30 kilos to lose I know I will get there and I'm not sure who will be happier Wendy, Janett, Tracey, Sylvie or me.

Diets – for me this meant “Should I eat to slim”? – the answer was NO. If there was a diet I would try it usually eating less food and not being able to go the distance which resulted in putting on more weight than I began with.
Six months ago the light bulb turned on as I had decided that fad dieting was not the way to go. I had to find a healthy eating regime with exercise and guidance. I had heard good things about “Healthy Inspirations” so decided to try this avenue, which is where my journey began. After my initial consultation I had to get my head around planning of meals, adjust to eating more than I was used to and attending three days a week for 30 minutes around the circuit and weigh in. Although a change to what I was used to, it was fairly easy.
Each week with a supportive team I lost weight, exercised and started feeling better in myself. On reaching specific weight loss goals I was rewarded with small gifts and a ribbon length for the loss of centimetres from my body, which I proudly displayed on my fridge.
The staff at Healthy Inspirations have at all times been very supportive and I must add I was no angel, I occasionally indulged in naughty food which would show the next time I stepped on the scales (Who was I trying to kid?) but they never made me feel guilty, they’d just advise me how to get back on plan. This week I reached my goal and I am elated.
It’s been an easy journey for me. I have stayed positive, focused, had support and learnt to make healthy choices. Most of all I now have a feeling of wellbeing within myself. Food is no longer the obsession it was in my life. I now eat to stay healthy. Healthy Inspirations says it all and I’m there to stay.

"My weight loss journey with Healthy Inspirations, Napier started in February 2009.
I moved with my family from Germany to Napier in October 2008. We wanted to change our life and lifestyle. I thought about doing something for me and my body because I was overweight for more than 15 years. I hated to go shopping because normal clothes didn’t fit me. At this time I saw the advert in the weekly newspaper. So I made an appointment and started with the programme.
I learnt a lot of healthy cooking and eating. In the past I have always loved to cook and bake, but with a lot of fat and cream. Now all this is out of my kitchen and my family likes the new healthy style of food and cooking too. The girls from the centre gave me some great recipes and tips and I often join the webpage of HI to get new ideas. I like to go to the centre to do some exercise and have a good talk to other members and it is good to know that I am not alone on this journey. A lot of people have the same problems as me. Sometimes when we have had invitations it was hard to stay on plan. But with my persistence and the ongoing support and encouragement of the girls in the centre I reached my goal of losing 30.9 kilos in only nine months. I never felt better in my life."
Thank you Healthy Inspirations Napier.

"Exactly 10 months to the day of starting my healthy quick start I completed my eight weeks of balance. In that 10 months I reached my goal weight and am now 38kg lighter and 138.5 cm smaller. And to celebrate I took part in the Rotorua tough guy/gal challenge. A gruelling six km military style obstacle course in the pouring rain and it was “Awesome”. So much fun I am already planning on doing it all again next year! And it is all thanks to Letitia (another Napier H.I. member) after she told me she had joined I thought “why not give it a go”. I certainly never thought she needed to lose weight, unlike looking at myself in the mirror every morning and seeing that I did. (I now realise that everyone has their own goals) At least I would know someone there if I did join. Not that; as it turns out, it mattered. As the staff and other members all turned out to be a really supportive and motivational bunch. (Gill, another member, certainly gets us all going at Sylvie’s motivational circuit classes.)
The journey has been tough, but to be honest not as tough as I have been telling myself for the last few years that it would be. I tried a “gym” and lost 5 kilos in the first 6 weeks then nothing for the rest of the year. And other diet groups and potions didn’t make a lot of sense as a long-term maintenance plan. Special foods and shakes aren’t practical with a growing family.
I have to say there is no better feeling then having people not recognise you and seeing the recognition dawn on their faces as they realise it is me. It is also great when squeezing through small gaps at work having the customers tell you that you are lucky to be such a “tiny wee thing”. (Little do some of them know what I was like.)
And I am thin. Thanks to Healthy Inspirations I am a TINY WEE THING.
P.S I am also looking forward to my next big challenge – the mother’s race at my son’s school. One of the many things I would never have dreamed of doing 10 months ago."
