Personal Trainer, Hannah Stubing
Hannah holds a Certificate IV in Personal training and group fitness instruction as well as being Mum to 9 month old baby Oliver.
Through her participation in team sport and personal fitness from a young age, including representing South Australia in Rowing, she has developed a passion for motivating and inspiring others to lead healthy and active lives.
She loves nothing more than helping her clients to achieve their fitness and weight loss goals and discover ability and strength that they didn’t know they had.
Her personal training philosophy is entirely focussed on the client to create fun and enjoyment through working toward and obtaining health and fitness goals
Hannah’s “other” career as a Police Officer has given her the ability to relate to, and work with, people from all walks of life. She looks forward to working with you sometime soon.
Relay for Life 2010
Frewville and Prospect centres raised over $4,000 for The Cancer Council’s Relay for Life last weekend. Silent auctions were held in both centres and all goods were kindly donated by members, staff and local businesses. It was a fantastic atmosphere over the weekend, with some of our members walking over 30 kms during the 20 hour period! The call round the track from other particpants was "here come the healthy women - watch out!". We even made the TV news 3 times because we looked so good! New friends were made and a great time had for a good cause. Many thanks to our members who participated, donated or bought goods from the auction and thanks also to our local business partners for their support.

*The 8 second exercise program designed specifically for fat loss*
LifeSprints has been developed from research conducted by the Medical Faculty at the University of New South Wales. The research has shown that a 20 minute work-out consisting of 8 seconds of sprint exercise, followed by 12 seconds of easy pace aerobic exercise, resulted in much more fat loss than 40 minutes of steady pace aerobic activity (3 times a week for 15 weeks). These studies also found and reported big increases in aerobic and anaerobic fitness, with subjects showing signifificantly decreased fasting insulin and increased leg and abdomen muscle mass.

Be Inspired, Rosemary has lost:
30 kilo's, 80.5 cm's & 19.2% body fat..

My first incentive to lose weight was a Beagle puppy which was promised to me when I reached goal weight. My mum took me to Weight Watchers and I became a lifetime member at age 13! I was quite sporty and kept my weight off during my teens, but regained it into my 20’s. I became the classic yo-yo dieter… Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Lite’n’Easy & even the Cabbage diet were all useful tools in this. My incentives then included being bridesmaid several times and o’seas trips, but inevitably the event would pass & I would regain some, or all, or more weight than ever.
Recently a major incentive to lose weight was the $800 loading that was added to my Income Protection Insurance because I was obese. That was it. I was finally going to beat this and improve my health status! Deep down I don’t think I really ever thought it was possible but I was determined! However I had been just as determined so many times before. I started by buying the Wii-fit system and really found it a useful tool when I eventually had the nerve to first record my weight on it. Yes, it also told me I was obese! I initially lost some weight with Lite’n’Easy but needed more help I as I knew I couldn’t do it alone.
I had driven past Healthy Inspirations practically every night on the way home but it wasn’t till a friend of Mum’s put a 7 day trial card in the letterbox and talked of her success that I had the courage to walk in the door. I remember saying that my goal was that I just wanted to be and feel normal. After a shaky first few weeks of feeling headachy & really wondering what I had signed up for (just ask Kathleen!) I began to really achieve weight loss and didn’t look back. I kept it very simple. Mountain bread became my friend at lunch as I had toasties most days as well as a great supply of veggie soup c/o of my Mum. The one-on-one support at weigh-ins and the regular circuit (sometimes I could only manage twice a week) were working and I found that I didn’t have the cravings I normally would at night because I had cut out the carbs. An early morning hour walk once a week before work with a friend was really beneficial too. At one point I had lost 21kgs in 21 weeks. A record for me!!... and I won the Biggest Loser competition of which I am very proud. I have now gone on to lose 30kgs…. and kept it off for 3 months! My nieces now call me Aunty Skinny!
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE AT HEALTHY INSPIRATIONS! And this includes fellow members that inspire also! Some nights I really had to drag myself in but I always left pleased that I had made the effort. The setup was so helpful to me and conducive to my weight loss. The eating plan certainly worked for me!
There is definitely no way I would have achieved my goal if it wasn’t for all the help I received from Healthy Inspirations. And I achieved my goal despite a year that for me that was full of many stresses and lows that would normally trigger major binge eating and weight gain. My Dad died earlier this year after a difficult time & I am so pleased he got to see me at my goal. Despite his dementia he still knew me & was proud!
don’t like sharing this fact because I am not proud of it but if it helps to inspire someone else I am willing to share. In my work skirt I was briefly, a size 22! But - I can now brag that I can fit the size 10 in the same skirt. Who would have thought!!!! I don’t have to explain how that feels!! Mind you the whole process has been rather overwhelming! When a colleague at work let me try on a size 10 for the first time a few months ago I just burst into tears when it fitted and I don’t usually cry at work!
I can laugh now because I no longer have to pay excess on my insurance as I am now in the NORMAL healthy range, but then I prefer the Wii fit range which makes me IDEAL!
I now have an incentive to live life …………………………… and perhaps get a new puppy!

I have lost 9kg since January 18th, and I am now enjoying the Balance program. I am a mother of two boys a twelve year old and a two year old, plus three step children all teenagers. This keeps me pretty busy and reasonably high stress levels as well.
Over the past few years I have had a gradual weight gain, bad habits picking at the kids food etc., I tried other types of weight loss, e.g. pre-packaged food, lost a few kilos, but gained it all back as soon as I went back to normal life.
Turning 39 last November, I decided that was it, I was not going to turn 40 and keep getting bigger. I was ready to change my life! That’s when I saw the ad for Healthy Inspirations. My friend and I decided to start the journey together and that has been wonderful and kept us both on track. We are both turning 40 this November and intend to look fabulous for our joint party.
I hadn’t even realised how unhappy I was until I began losing the weight. I became aware that I didn’t even feel comfortable to change in front of my husband. I had started buying clothes to disguise my weight gain. I saw a new found confidence in myself, and was able to go out shopping and couldn’t believe it when I had to try the size 8 on, that hasn’t happened since I was 16.
The girls at Healthy Inspirations are amazing, so supportive. I think the realisation that cheating in any way was only cheating myself had a big influence on my success. The biggest challenge was changing my lifestyle and giving up alcohol. When I started to see results the benefits far outweighed anything I had to go without.
I now exercise 6-7 days per week, I have started running, and love it. I am building up to the 12km City to Bay Run in September – can’t wait!
Thank you so much to all the girls at Healthy Inspirations, being at my goal weight I am confident, fit, enjoying my family and loving my life. Can’t wait to turn 40, bring it on!!!

"I began putting on weight when I was in Year 7. I had always been an active kid but I broke my ankle in Year 7 and this meant that I couldn’t participate in any sports for a couple of months. I began eating more and this eventually resulted in me putting on lots of weight. All throughout high school I was bigger than my friends, which made me embarrassed and very self-conscious.
I moved to the Adelaide Hills early last year and working in the city, meant that I was always driving past Healthy Inspirations, thinking to myself that one day I will go in there and sign up. It took a couple of months of driving past everyday, always telling myself I would change, to finally go into the centre one afternoon and ask about signing up. I was met my Kathleen who immediately had such enthusiasm that I sensed that she genuinely wanted to help me out. I signed up then and there and from that day, I have been a changed person. I believe something in my head clicked that day and from that moment, I have wanted to change the person I used to be, to the person I am becoming now.
It has been around 6 months since I joined Healthy Inspirations and I have lost 30 kilos. This was my original goal but I have since increased that goal to 35 kilos and with the help of all of the girls from Healthy Inspirations, who are nothing but inspiring and caring, I believe I can keep on track with the plan.
There are always temptations and struggles through everyday life but the difference this time is that I am enjoying what I am eating on the plan. If I do have a day where I eat something I’m not supposed to, or if I drink a bit to much alcohol, I know that I need to work that little bit harder at the gym or go for an extra walk. The difference this time is that I am enjoying exercising in different forms and it doesn’t feel like a thing I have to do but something I want to do.
The achievement of losing 30 kilos is beyond what I could have imagined and has changed my life amazingly. I have restored confidence in myself; I believe in myself and am taking on new challenges. It has made me realise that I am young and that my life is precious and should not be wasted by being unhappy and overweight.
I have all this because of the girls at Healthy Inspiration and their guidance. It is exactly what I needed to be so successful. THANK YOU!!!"

"Four months ago I decided that it was time to, “do something about my weight”, which had been gradually increasing each and every year, just a little bit more - so many temptations, food, wine & no discipline.
It wasn’t hard to decide where to go, as my daughter Kylie has had much success with Healthy Inspirations and I could see first hand what a difference it’s made to her.
I’ve never joined a gym before and the thought of doing so was scary, but once I walked through the door at Frewville, I was made to feel welcome by the staff and other members and was immediately put at ease.
My goal initially, was to lose 13 kilos, which I am pleased to say started to come off immediately with the Healthy Quick Start. I thought I was in piggy heaven. I’d never before eaten so much to lose weight. In fact, this has been my biggest hurdle to overcome – three meals and two snacks each and every day. But I’ve done it. I lost the 13 kilos and then re-set my goal and lost another 5.7 kilos, averaging approximately a 1 kilo loss per week – 19 weeks in all so far, and 20.3 kilos lost.
Shopping for clothes has become a joy again. There’s nothing like trying on clothes several sizes smaller, and looking good in them.
I’m sleeping better and feel more alive. I’ve regained my energy and zest for life, I feel so empowered by my success.
The breakdown of Healthy Serving Choices has been an eye opener. It has shown me what a healthy ‘serving size’ looks like. I’ve found the Daily Journal invaluable and such an easy way to keep track of the different food groups which need to be included for a healthy eating plan. The mix of the ‘nutrition plan’ and exercise at Healthy Inspirations is simple and straight forward, easy to follow AND IT WORKS.
PS: My update for March is even better; my total loss now is 21 kilos. My goal now is maintaining this weight, and I have a generous leeway and a huge desire to do so. I even look forward to doing my workouts and never thought I would get to that point!"

"My name is Penny and I have been visiting Healthy Inspirations since late October 2009.
It all started when I was sitting with my friend, Cynthia, who was off from work sick and feeling very miserable. Cynthia had seen an advertisement in the local paper and decided that “we” needed to do something about our weight. She rang Healthy Inspirations then and there and booked us in to come and have a chat.
I guess I had been gradually putting on weight, bit by bit over the years. My lifestyle had changed from being very active, bringing up two young boys, to working over 6 days a week, leaving very little “me time”.
I had fallen into some bad habits – eating at different times of the day and night and making some very poor food choices. My level of physical activity had also dramatically dropped and as a result I found I was putting on more and more weight. I felt awful and could feel my health deteriorating.
Since joining Healthy Inspirations, I am feeling much better about myself. My weight is steadily dropping, I feel fitter and I definitely have more energy. Documenting my food choices has helped to keep me on track and “honest” as does sharing the journey with a friend. Cynthia helps to keep me focused and motivated – she “tells me off” and she encourages me and I do the same in return! We walk to and from the gym and chat whilst doing a circuit. I often find that we have completed our work out before we know it.
Some days it becomes a competition – I may have done well, whilst Cynthia has had a slip up and visa versa but ultimately it has been easier for me to take this journey with a friend."

"My name is Cynthia and my weight gain has been a gradual one due to the social nature of my job and my lifestyle,(coffees, lunches and dinners out).
My choice to join Healthy Inspirations came in the hope of looking healthier and younger. I found that I was lacking energy for work and day to day tasks. It also seemed that I was suffering more from minor illness than in the past.
I have been inspired and motivated to undertake this process with my friend Penny. We have made a pact with one another to work out and make healthy food choices. It has also added a whole new level of enjoyment to exercise.
Now that I have lost weight I have noticed a difference in my health, I don't get sick as often, I'm not constantly tired and my blood pressure has gone down. I am no longer tired and breathless in my fast paced job and I feel much happier and proud in my own skin. I can wear clothes that I was struggling to squeeze into before and I'm getting compliments on my appearance (which is lovely).
I have loved the entire “Healthy Inspirations experience” because it is a happy and fun place to work out. I actually enjoy going there which has come as a surprise to me as I have never previously enjoyed sport or exercise."

"Despite loving my role as a stay-at-home Mum, my outward appearance didn’t match how I felt, and I longed to get into some of my pre-children clothes again, which were gathering dust in the cupboard.
I’d tried other programmes after my first and then second child, but didn’t feel they offered enough support.
One day, I saw an acquaintance that I hadn’t seen in some time and remarked at how much weight she had lost. She told me about Healthy Inspirations, and that afternoon I decided that I needed to take control, make my weight an equal first with the needs of my family, and so I made an appointment. I was met by the inspirational Emma, and so began my weight loss and healthy lifestyle journey!
I’ve loved the fact that I can turn up to the gym in the morning with “bed hair” and no one gives a hoot! The girls have challenged me to new levels of fitness, and I can now keep up with my three boys without collapsing in a heap at the end of the day. I have much more energy and no health issues related to poor eating (I used to get headaches from the amount of sugar I was eating!).
I have had so many comments from family and friends (even the greengrocer and chemist!), and LOVE the feeling of being back in my “slim” clothes. I can only thank the team at Healthy Inspirations (again and again!) for helping me to “look” how I “feel”!
