Sheila D lost it at Healthy Inspirations

"I came to Healthy Inspirations after I found I was having to buy bigger clothes and couldn’t go into just any shop and buy what I wanted. I’ve tried several other weight loss programs, both in England (where I moved from several years ago) and in New Zealand. I needed something different. I met Melissa at the Women’s Expo, took a leaflet and mulled over whether I could afford it or whether I could afford not to and whether I was ready to make it work. I plucked up the courage to phone for an appointment – and it took a lot of courage - the best thing I’ve done for myself in years.
Coming to the centre 3 times a week was hard at first, trying to fit it in but I got into a routine, which could be altered if I had to, but was pretty much fixed in stone – it had to be for me. I found weighing 3 times a week a great boost, it kept me motivated to carry on as I could see the scales going down every couple of days. I focused on my goal statement; I wanted to be able to fit into a lovely blue dress which was hanging in my wardrobe which I hadn’t been able to wear for 8 years. I always felt it might fit one day so couldn’t bear to part with it.
Small 100g losses, which don’t seem enough at the time, soon turned into 1kg losses which felt great. Seeing the centimetres shrinking when my measurements were taken was fantastic and quite unbelievable at times. The support I got from Vicki, Melissa, Donna, Karan and Steph was great. On the days when I was finding it tough they always had an idea to be focused on and always pointed out the positives.
Unlike other weight loss programs, I didn’t have to wait a whole week to see someone and then get lost in the crowd when other voices demanded the attention and that has been a real key to my success. Even if I have only come to the centre to use the equipment there is always the opportunity to chat about problems or share good things that have happened.
I’ve moved my goal weight several times but each time it was my decision not someone telling me I should be a particular weight. I’m now at a weight I feel I can maintain and am on lifestyle after losing 23kg. I have set myself a weight which I do not want to go above and so far (fingers crossed) have managed to stay below it. I am now 2/3 sizes smaller than I was when I began my journey and I feel I’m in control. I walk into shops, pick something off the rack, try it on and am still surprised when it fits; it’s a wonderful feeling which I’m determined to hold onto this time.
I can now fit into my lovely blue dress but my shape has changed in 8 years and in doesn’t look good anymore, but guess what, I’ve bought myself another lovely dress which just happens to be blue so it’s all good."

Rosemarie lost 15 kilos on the Healthy Inspirations Great Shape Program
"Finally I made up my mind to get serious about my fitness ( or lack of it) and do something about the ever increasing kilos.
I signed up with Healthy Inspirations in Hamilton and under the guidance and support of Vicki and her team, I slowly but surely stated to shed excess kilos and centimetres.
The food journal helped keep me on track and using “everyday foods” made following the plan easier.
I have lost 15kgs and 61cm.
THANK YOU HEALTHY INSPIRATIONS."
