The experts behind the Great Shape Program

The Food Plans

Jill MacGregor, APD

Food expert Jill MacGregor
Jill oversees the Great Shape program and supports the Lifestyle Consultants to meet the special dietary needs of members.

"The reason that the program is so successful is that it is based on real food and that the whole family can eat the same meals.

Women are so busy and so preparing just one meal for the whole family is easier to sustain.

I’m pleased that members' partners and children often lose weight at the same time. I also provide support for members with special dietary needs."

Nutrition

Trudy Williams, APD

Nutrition expert
Trudy is a specialist in dietary analysis computer software to ensure that the nutrient profile meets up-to-date dietary guidelines.

"Most people don’t know that the nutrient reference values have been recently upgraded in Australia and New Zealand. We completely reviewed the Great Shape Program to ensure that, not only would the members continue to achieve great weight loss but the program met the upgraded nutrient values.

I am pleased that we achieved this without reverting to meal replacements. Members lose weight the healthiest way – with real food."

"Unlike any other program, the members get one-on-one support sessions with exercise sessions – three times per week. Our challenge was to ensure that the staff training and members educational materials were at the forefront of weight loss research.

It is impressive that the Great Shape Program provides high quality weight loss education at such an affordable cost."

Casey Conrad

Casey Conrad

Casey Conrad is the developer of the Healthy Inspirations program. Casey has 25 years experience in the fitness industry. In the United States she has worked for major women's-only health clubs and developed her own training business.

Casey provides materials and training for the health and fitness industries around the world and for the past decade has travelled the globe as one of the leading experts in weight loss, marketing, communication and operations. She has spoken at every major fitness conference around the globe and regularly writes in professional journals.

Healthy Inspirations developed as a result of Casey's long term frustrations with the medical, fitness and weight loss industries.
  1. She was frustrated with the medical community who simply didn't have the time or expertise to coach people on the lifestyle changes necessary for healthy weight loss.
  2. She was frustrated with the fitness industry. Weight loss is the primary reason for people joining a gym or starting an exercise program, but the fitness industry does not provide effective weight loss programs or the coaching needed for them to be successful. Many simply hand out 30-day diets and this short term piecemeal approach rarely leads to effective and lasting weight loss.
  3. The other major frustration Casey had was with the weight loss industry, which fails to provide effective supervised exercise program to complement their diet programs. Naturally, without the correct exercise you will regain lost weight in the long term. Some diet programs are even worse, in that they are based upon meal-replacement shakes from pharmacies, where there is little or no coaching on how to develop a healthy "real food" diet and no exercise supervision.

Losing weight without exercise is not a healthy or recommended method for longterm loss. Casey felt that these industries were letting their clients down and it was this frustration that led to the creation of HealthyInspirations.

Casey developed a fully coordinated weight loss program that combined:

  • a personalised real-food eating program
  • supervised resistance-based exercise program
  • one-on-one coaching - three times per week - to support the change process
  • stress reduction through relaxing massage sessions

When combined into one program and placed in a womens-only environment, this provided the solution for effective long term weight loss. Since its inception, Casey's program has been successfully operating around the world in countries such as the USA, Australia and New Zealand.

Casey's passion to help members achieve their goals through this unique combination approach has a attracted a team of experts, who ensure that every aspect of the program meets her goal of providing effective healthy weight loss to women around the globe.

However, the challenge she faced, was how to deliver all these essential ingredients for a successful healthy weight loss program at an affordable cost for the women wanting to lose weight. Sending a women off to a dietitian for the diet, a gym, personal trainer or exercise physiologist for an exercise program, and to a psychologist for the behavioural change would be too expensive and overkill.

One of the key ingredients to the success of the program is the training of centres' Lifestyle Consultants. Typically the consultants are women who can relate to other women about weight issues. With the help of her expert team, Casey developed a training program whereby these passionate women could learn how to become weight loss coaches so they could help women in their community lose weight through a science-based program.
